I did cook milkweed once. It tasted like bland soggy broccoli when I was done boiling, straining, boiling, straining, boiling, straining,etc to get the bad stuff out.
Cat tails, on the other hand... mmmm.... cooked in a frying pan with a tiny bit of water and some butter.... yumm.
I used to own that book. It was great. I purged a lot of my books though. From hundreds to just maybe a one hundred.
