Excerpt" Two weeks after a man unzipped and peed into an open-air Mount Tabor reservoir, crews have drained the reservoir and could have it cleaned and back in operation by Friday.

Last week, engineers began draining 7.5 million gallons from No. 1 reservoir. Around 9 p.m. Monday, they finished the job, said Tony Barbera, a Portland Water Bureau operating engineer.

Today, workers scrubbed the concrete walls of the reservoir. The next step: fill and chlorinate the water, wait 24-hours and sample the water quality, said Barbera.

If all goes to schedule, the reservoir could be back in service Friday, he said.

No word yet on whether engineers found anything troubling after emptying the reservoir. Remember, some water officials worried less about the nature pee by 21-year-old Josh Seater from Molalla than about unknown items thrown into the water by a group of five people who hung around Mount Tabor early on the morning of June 15..."
