Missing Ashland Woman is Endangered

MEDFORD, Ore. -- An 85-year-old Ashland woman has been kidnapped by her son, and the FBI is hoping you can help find the pair.

Doris Goldberg suffers from dementia and lives with one son in Ashland, who says he moved his mother to Southern Oregon after her other son, Marshall Goldberg, beat her until she needed to be hospitalized.

The FBI and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office say Goldberg kidnapped his mother from her home in Ashland on May 24.

Doris is considered "endangered". If you have any information, contact police.

An 85-year-old Oregon woman who was kidnapped by her son was found on Friday at a motel in Frazier Park, Calif. Her 55-year-old son was arrested and will be extradited back to Oregon, the FBI said.

Marshall Goldberg kidnapped Doris Goldberg, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, from her Ashland home on May 24. She is undergoing a medical evaluation at a hospital in California.

Concerned citizens who had heard about the case notified deputies that Marshall Goldberg and his mother were staying at the motel. Marshall Goldberg will face kidnapping, custodial interference and contempt of court charges in Jackson County.

– The Oregonian
