The giant flea market
#1
I am interested in the Medford giant flea market. I would like to have taste the flavor via pics. If anyone is willing to go there I would appreciate pics. I know BBQ sells there perhaps he would help put together an album of the great sites of the phenom. Perhaps Simon Peter can help out.Thanks. YH6161 Smiling

If you lived in Southern Oregon you'd easily know what a giant extravaganza the Giant Flea Market is. It takes days to go through it all. Smiling

Yes, I liked San Jose because it had a lot of electronics.
I didn't like the fact everything was on the ground.
Sebastopol has tables.

I went last year and bought a few items to resell. But a lot of the people selling are dealers and prices reflect that.

Half the people I know sell there. It's actually, a pretty sorry flea market. I sit in the sun at the Big Y, with more decent crap, than the whole medford Flea Market combined. This valley needs something way, way better.

We have something better called yard sales. It just takes more effort and gas, you need a rice burner. The city wides are the best. Although I know this is not news to you.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier is having a big yard sale in the parking lot this coming Saturday, Aug 7th. All the sellers are non-profits raising funds.

I'm not completely sure, but I think folks donate good stuff to their charity to sell. I'll go check it out, at least.

I hope you are right about the "good stuff" Crone but I have found that most church rummage sales have the worst cheap ass crap and old worn out or out dated stuff that you can possibly find . I rarely bother to stop and look any more.

This is an annual event. I've been a couple of times. Always managed to find something I couldn't live without! Big Grin

Just kidding but I remember when you could NOT find a yard sale that didn't have at least one of those itemsLaughing

I can't tell you how many yard sales I've been to over the years that had (stolen) ash trays from Reno or Vegas... and they were trying to make $$$ off of them. Blink

I thought you were supposed to take those ashtraysLaughing Considering the amount of money people leave in those places I seriously doubt they are worried about replacing ashtrays.
I've got two that I took from a casino in Reno when I won 4400 bucks, and a coupler tokens. I took it all right in front of themBig Grin

My favorite technique is to pick up an object i don't want and ask how much?, I then shrug my head put it down and pick up the object i do want and ask again. They usally give me a deep dicount.

Mostly, it's baby clothes. But, here and there, you find a jackpot, you have to pick your way out of. I found all the Snap-On, in the bottom of the boxes at the last auction. There were eighty people who should have done what I did. But, everyone saw the figurines, and I got them for nothing, too? The Courier sale produced a nice red Coleman, so I wasted my time going back for the next four years. Dovetailed pine might mean "Shaker". That happens more often than you'd imagine. I have bic razors for the next century. And, I'm stylin' in some dead guy's fruity looking loafers. Does it get any better than this?
