Ponder, I really don't think pro Zionist could possibly understand your comment.

Some critics of Zionism describe it as racist or discriminatory while others criticize Zionism and specifically identify Judaism's notion of "chosen people" as the source of racism in Zionism.

Zionism is racism.................Judaism is not Zionism.

Here is a very interesting video on the history of modern Zionism and the differences between Zionism and Judaism;
When he said "They don't even celebrate the day" he meant Jews, not Zionists, and while it is nice of you to try and make it seem as if he might not understand, I think he does.

When you went with this comment; ''the thin veil of hypocrisy over your anti-semitism'' after his poster on ''Zionism is not Healthy'' I was reminded how any criticism of Zionism, the duel Israel/US citizenship of American politicians or of Israel itself is always used by the Zionist to say its ''anti-semitic'' inferring that all Jews are being hated when it is the policies of a country and its leaders that are at issue not a religion.................Leonard

The "They" who don't celebrate the day are Jews, not just Zionists. But let me ask you something more interesting, imho. If I were to concede, as a Jew, that Zionism is the usurpation of the legitimate Jewish interests for a profane and otherwise secretive agenda...would you concede that Environmentalism has also been hi-jacked for just as sinister a cause by people who shroud themselves in environmental causes? Because I am perfectly willing to concede the first. (And perfectly capable of demonstrating the second).

DUNNO,

I will certainly concede that the Mainstream Environmental organizations have been hi-jacked and corrupted by those with money and political interests just as they have corrupted the legitimate Conservative, Liberal, Socialist, Tea Party, Anti-War and Peace movements.

And they will continue to destroy any other movement that gets in their way as long as corporations are people and money equals freedom of speech and the public continues in its somnambulistic state.

Oh good, so then perhaps we can direct some of the antagonism that is currently directed to liberals/Democrats and conservative/GOP to any agency that advocates the elimination of large numbers of people in the name of environmentalism and the capitalists that have joined them in order to secure a more manageable cash cow. These powerful entities are allowed to enter into the game shroudedf with the false party politics that we give them whenever we decide to ignore the ugliness of the party we are aligned with.

There are usually some common things that we all agree on, like: Should any government that finds the killing of it's own citizens an acceptable solution in order to retain the status quo be accepted into the conversation of civilized men? And the same question with any quasi-government agency.

When my kids were in elementary school, the Christmas versus Hannukah thing was a real issue. I grew up with Jews as friends, neighbors and even classmates. Imagine my surprise when we moved to CT, had kids in the public schools, only to discover that Jewish and Christian parents were waging a kind of war on each other. One parent went to the Superintendent of Schools to complain that the candy cane her daughter was given was a violation of her civil rights (!). Who WERE these people? Twitch

My kids learned about Hannukah, enjoyed playing the Dreidel game in school and gobbled up latkes when brought in by the parents. They learned what a menorah is and how their friends celebrated their very lovely winter holiday.
The Jewish kids, otoh, grudgingly were allowed to learn about Santa coming down the chimney and delivering toys to all the children, if a parent went in to explain the holiday. Needless to say, many Christian parents were enraged that kids were learning only about the secular side of Christmas. Christian parents went to school to do a little presentation to the kids in their classrooms explaining about the Nativity, etc. Jewish parents were none too pleased about this and threatened to take their kids out of school on 'presentation days'. I must say, people, it got ugly. I came away feeling angry and hurt. Unsure

Then we moved to CA with a much smaller contingent of Jewish families (none of whom were New Yorkers). Result: Everyone enjoyed everything about everyone's holiday. No angst, no anger, no outrage. Just Hannukah and Christmas. My daughter went to a friend's house for Hannukah one night and loved it. She gave her friend a Christmas gift in return. Ahhhh, what a relief. Big Grin

Peace and good will to men (and women) on Earth, indeed.

My stepdad met his Jews when he drove Patton into the death camps. The whole silly Nazi hunter business was just some crazy spiritual awakening Patton stopped to have. They murdered him for it. But half of America was working for Shell. What else could they do?
