That civility thing which Democrats and the Left thought to be all-important earlier this year is sooooo January. Unless it changes its stripes overnight, the incivility and hostility on display today in Detroit, which hasn't been seen much in establishment press reports to this point, won't appear on the Big 3 Networks' morning shows tomorrow. The American people really need to see what has become of the labor movement, and the type of behavior its head cheerleader in the White House condones.

Before President Obama spoke in the parking lot of a General/Government Motors plant in Detroit this afternoon, Teamsters President James Hoffa Jr. warmed up the crowd, as transcribed below (video at Right Scoop; HT Temple of Mut via Instapundit):

Story Continues Below Ad ?

Hoffa: We've got to keep an eye on the battle that we face, a war on workers. And you see it everywhere. It is the Tea Party. And y'know there's only one way to beat and win that war.

The one thing about working people is, we like a good fight. And you know what? They got a war, they got a war with us, and there's only gonna be one winner, it's going to be the workers of uh Michigan and America! We're gonna win that war!

-- (snip) --

President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong. Thank you very much. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

You left out the best part. The new civility twist that obama has called for. Just before Obama spoke Hoffa said:

Quote:“President Obama, this is your army, we are ready to march. Let’s take these sons of bitches out.”

Sounds like at threat to me. I say bring it.

Are these the very same union workers who drove the auto manufacturers out of Detroit? Can't they look themselves in the mirror, just once?

If they can't see Hoffa is jacking them up, then they deserve to go down in flames.
Other hard working workers in America are the ones paying for the cars, and paying the taxes going to support socialist school systems.

The union workers cut their throats, long ago. Today their numbers, and their public image are nose diving simultaneously. Considering their actions in Wisconsin, and Michigan, is there any wonder why unions are headed for the dust bin?

Well, bringing "socialism" into it is just as misplaced as calling it a war ... or an army.

The rhetoric used to pump up the masses has never been sterling, but seems to become more cliche every minute.

"Take back our country" should be the first to go.

War, unless it is war, should be second.

Euphemisms for war should be third.

American values should be ...

on it goes.

There you go with the socialism again. You anti union twits are such hypocrites. Republicans love their socialism just like every other working class American. Whats the matter? Hasn't Rush and company given you any new deragatory names to call working Americans that dont also apply to yourselves? Some working people have decided not to collectively bargain for wages and benefits, OK fine, but why buy into the rhetoric from shills for big business that try to convince you that joining a union is a bad thing? Idiots.

What does Obama think of Hoffa's uncivil comments? Apparently he won't condemn them.

White House Declines To Comment On Union Leader’s Anti-Tea Party Rhetoric At Labor Day Rally

Despite President Obama’s repeated claims to change the tone in Washington, the White House had no comment this afternoon after Teamsters Union leader James Hoffa, speaking at an event before President Obama, said of Tea Party activists that, come November, Democrats should “take these sons of bitches out.”

Warming up the crowd before President Obama’s Labor Day speech in Detroit this afternoon, Hoffa warned the largely union crowd that the Tea Party was waging a “war on workers.”

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Hoffa told thousands of workers gathered for the annual event organized by the Detroit Labor Council.

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march…Everybody here’s got a vote…Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” he concluded.

As does the head of the DNC

Quote:DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Absolutely Doesn‘t Want to Talk About Jimmy Hoffa’s Speech No Matter How Many Times Gretchen Carlson Asks

Jimmy Hoffa may be firmly standing by his “take the sons of bitches out” call to political arms in Detroit on Monday, but not everyone wants to talk about it.

“Fox & Friends” anchor Gretchen Carlson tried gamely to get DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to address to vitriol at the Obama Labor Day event. The DNC Chair went into major avoidance mode. Again and again:

Ah, but I was speaking generally that is why I used the plural "idiots" as opposed to "idiot." And Republicans, twits, hypocrites etc. You used the term son of a bitch. If you want to own my assessment all by yourself go ahead. BTW, do you plan to get on Medicare or collect Social Security when you're eligible? Inquiring minds and all that.

Are you stupid? What are you taking about dropping out of it for. If you are insinuating that you would drop out if you could, simply dont apply for benefits or donate the money to charity. Do you intend to not participate in Medicare too, Mr I hate socialism?

I'll let you decide how stupid I am. The point is, I am not given a choice to participate in SS. So you point is meaningless. I also thought medicare was also a mandatory program once a person began collecting retirement benefits. I participation in these govt. programs is optional, I'd like to opt out.

I've notice it is quite easy to get you upset and run off at the mouth with name calling. That is quite becoming. You children must admire you.

You lie to quote a Republican congressman some of you folks admire. You expect me to believe that you will pay your own medical expenses when you are over 65 years old living on a retirement, probably the social security benefits you cant figure out how to opt out of. Are you a millionaire?
