Prune juice gone bad

Senior citizen files federal lawsuit after prune juice mishap

As if growing old isn't painful enough, now comes exploding prune juice.

Oscar Weller, an 83-year-old retiree from Grants Pass, bought a bottle of the beverage from Walmart in early 2010 and put it in the fridge.

Prune juice has some powerful health benefits and it's something of an elixir for young and old both. But Weller didn't know how powerful the beverage could be until Feb. 28, 2010.

Early on that Sunday morning, he grabbed the plastic bottle of prune juice out of the fridge with plans to pour himself a glass.

Then pow.

Think it fermented in the year it sat in his fridge?
