Funny!

For the first year or so I refused to use them. (Smilies, as we call them here). I was laboring under the thought that the English language should be enough. But, they are just so damn handy. Wink I see we have new ones. Maybe three would have been enough.

All Things Considered (an NPR program I like), I favor emoticons over repetitive punctuation!!! Do you get my point???

But, I'm a flawed pot and can hardly criticize the kettle.

Nah. I think emoticons serve a purpose. They can get obnoxious when used indiscriminantley, or when they are too cutsey. But most of the ones on this forum serve a purpose. There are some I never use, but some I use pretty regularly to convey a tone. Sometimes a smiley is a better way to say: "Just kidding"

Glad to see you understood; however, that emoticon isn't hosted by RVF. Even if RVF stopped hosting emoticon's, that alone wouldn't get rid of them.
