When FDR signed the executive order to put all Japanese-American citizens into internment camps, he put a huge blot on his presidency. I didn't know there was such a camp in Oregon. How sad.

California? Laughing That's the closest I could find. I don't think Jo. Co. had one Chuck. There are more than 100 websites that have the same info copied word for word. Bad info me thinks..... https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=c...renovation.

Our German POWs walked the streets of Medford, as honored guests. Because Oregon was in Hitler's camp. And, at the same time, Black American GIs were confined to their quarters at Camp White. Our timbermen hid lumber intended for the "Lend Lease Program", while twenty two million Russians died. The Courier supported The Nazis, almost to the end of the war. They should have been hung.

That article reminds me of the stockpiled coffins at FEMA camps hysteria that hit a couple of years ago.

Funny this....after some folks on the forum invoke George Takei, who, along with his family, was interred at Tule Lake internment camp.

in·voke/in?v?k/
Verb:
1.Cite or appeal to (someone or something) as an authority for an action or in support of an argument.
2.Call on (a deity or spirit) in prayer, as a witness, or for inspiration.

I, personally, have never invoked him, but I've shared some of his funny pictures, I don't know where he gets them all! I *like* him on Facebook and struggle to not copy every one of 'em! Laughing Wink

Sad to see the usual 50% flame and in your face remarks to your straight forward quiery chuck white.

There are vast open areas in Josephine County and at least two if not more defunct WW2 military bases of some 'kind' in Josephine-Jackson County's. Perhaps some trips to historical museum's and talking at lengths with their curators can help supply some light on the subject.

There are likely one if not two newer (post-WW2) VIP USA Gov. Bunkers located on hidden Josephine-Jackson County Federal lands but unless you've been in a coma for the past 12 yrs. you'd know visiting such a site as a wayward hiker would likely find you locked up before reaching the site itself and nowdays entirely likely to illicit federal thugs and goons knocking on your door later to seize all of your digital devices while placing you on some watch lists.

Local private pilots might be able to steer you in the general area where suspicious military buildings might exist if you are really that curious. Don't overlook elderly librarians who have been active in Josephine and Jackson Co. for decades as a useful source also as USA and other agency's deliberately remove and shred maps and supportive documents over time in a crass attempt to cover their tracks and rewrite history.

I was surprised to hear not long ago that there's a large, abandoned "sanitorium" up for sale in Merlin (along with quite a few acres, the person telling me about thought it might make a good RV park until we started talking about how all the successful RV parks are all next to the freeway instead of some out of the way peaceful place this is - but, I digress.) According to this authoritative looking list, there was no internment camp in Josephine County (includes links): http://www.gentracer.org/internmentcamplist.html

A quonset hut containing the Dixie Cups of local officials, waiting for The South to rise again, is rumored to exist in either Josephine, or Douglas Counties.
